How To Find The Right Supplier of Gaylord Boxes

If you are searching for a used or new Gaylord boxes supplier, you may have a variety of choices. It is important to make an informed decision before you make an expensive snap decision and end up unhappy with either the product or service. While several reputable companies exist out there, some are definitely not the right fit for you for various reasons. Here are some tips to help you select the right one:

Customer Service

Is there someone at the other end of the line when you call? Is there a Live Chat option that helps you get answers quickly? Is it possible to easily submit a quote from the website? Are you treated with respect?

Do they ask you questions to ensure that you get the right box or does it seem like they simply want to sell you something? What happens when you have to reject a load? Do they guarantee that what’s ordered is exactly what you will receive?

We are customer-driven and always let out knowledge, our products, and our service do the selling for us. Our knowledgeable customer service and sales representatives advise customers on the appropriate boxes that are guaranteed to either meet or exceed expectations. We have a range of boxes including the heavy duty 4 wall Gaylord Boxes for you to choose from.

We are safety conscious and always prioritize that aspect. We won’t sell you a Gaylord box if we truly believe that it isn’t safe for your application. The final call is obviously up to you, but we usually push hard to ensure that you stay safe.

If a mistake is made and we ship the wrong boxes, we will ensure that it’s corrected. We never negotiate on rejected loads, but our rejection rate is so low that it is not even worth discussing. We send them back to our warehouse to find out why they were rejected and learn from that to ensure that it never happens again.

Quality

Have the supplier describe the refurbishing process they use. Do they actually have one? Do they even know what the box you will receive actually looks like? How clean are they? How orderly are they stacked on pallets? What were the previous contents?

If the supplier does have a refurbishing process, they should be capable of telling you what they do to the boxes once they arrive at the facility. We inspect every box, remove as much of the previous contents as we can and all loose tape. We then restack the boxes by part number and strap each stack securely.

If the supplier doesn’t refurbish the boxes, do they have a screening process to verify quality? Have them describe this to you. If they are a broker-only organization they have to rely solely on the supplier to provide information on the boxes, including bundle count, description, and quality. You will have to hope that what’s described to you is what you end up getting. Unless the broker has established a long-lasting relationship with the supplier, this can be incredibly risky for you.

We do online visits, randomly test loads, and get pictures. If a vendor’s loads fail to meet our standards, we remove them from our list. If a vendor’s quality diminishes over time, we also remove them from our list.

Location and Turnaround Time

Where are their warehouses located? Are they strategically located to ensure that freight costs stay low? What’s the average time from order to delivery?

We have warehouses that are located strategically throughout the United States to ensure that freight costs stay low and allow for timely deliveries. Depending on the location and product, once your product has left our warehouse, most items deliver in 1 to 5 days. In-stock items can ship the next day if you place the order early enough and freight carriers are available. Custom order boxes, on the other hand, deliver in 2 to 4 weeks.

Longevity and Reputation

How long has the supplier been in business? What do other customers have to say about them? Do they get lots of referrals? Do they have negative reviews?

Longevity is king in this industry. If the supplier has been in business for 10 years or longer, they have probably stood the test of time. Before jumping in, however, you need to do proper research and Google them, and find out whether other people in your industry have heard of or worked with them. What was their experience?

Our reputation is the secret behind our success and it is clearly evident in referrals. So many of our best customers have come to us through a referral from a friend or colleague. We love hearing when somebody leaves a company and brings us with them to their new job.

Ultimately, you have to educate yourself and ask questions. Don’t take for granted that others have your best interests in mind. They might only be concerned about the commission they are earning or covering their overhead for the week. The more comfortable you are with their answers and the information freely provided on their website, the higher the chances that you will have a great buying experience.
